Valentin “Vale” and Lupita Salinas
Vale was born and raised in a village family that depended upon growing their own crops and looking after a few goats and donkeys for their livelihood. As a young man, Vale traveled to the United States in search of a better life. It was here that he first heard the gospel.
Upon his return to Mexico, he traveled to Mexico City to work in construction. While there, a family invited him to study the Bible with them. After a few weeks, Vale and his wife returned to his home village where they continued to meet with others to read and study the Bible together. Although his wife was skeptical of the gospel, she could not deny the changes she saw happening in her husband’s life as he responded to the truth of God’s Word. Over time, she, too, readily surrendered her life to Jesus Christ.
When the Vida team met Vale through some friends, we could not help but notice the hunger in Vale’s heart for knowing God’s Word. After a year of preparation and training, Vale and his wife were sent out by Vida to the district of Xichu, where they started a restaurant business to help sustain their ministry and to form relationships with their neighbors. It is their desire to share the message of salvation with this unreached community.
This family with three daughters is continuing ministry in Xichu, an area with only 0.1% of the population having any exposure to the gospel.[fundraiser slug=salinas-family-support]
